Dear Independent Pet Store Owner:

In case we haven’t met, my name is Lewis Turner, and I have been in the retail pet store business for most of my professional life.  In 2007, the store my wife, Paula,  and I owned and operated got bookended;  Petco was on one side of us, and Petsmart on the other.  Together with the depressed economy, making ends meet was an incredible challenge.
