"It
came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart
with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a
piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my
heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they
are."

Since 2007, Ken-Mar Rescue has been dedicated to help end the overwhelming pet overpopulation problem in Southern California and beyond.
Numerous owners mistakenly take their pets to shelters believing
that good homes will be found. Occasionally that is
true, but too often owner-surrendered pets are kept only two to four
days due to lack of shelter space. Strays usually are housed for only three to
five days before being euthanized.
Scores of Ken-Mar Rescue dogs need and receive veterinary care, from
nail trims to extensive surgery. Ken-Mar's ultimate
goal is to become obsolete, but until
animal shelters can be safe places of refuge, Martie and Ken will strive to give a
future to as many pets as possible. Ken-Mar Rescue will stand behind them and their new owners for the rest of the pet’s life!
